OpenAI’s chatbot impresses with the responses it can generate. But you can go further and get clearer and more concise answers by improving your instructions.
Since the end of November and available in a free public beta, ChatGPT, the OpenAI chatbot, hasn’t stopped talking since then. And for good reason, the AI that drives it is mystifying. The tool, which you can address as you address a loved one, is able in a few seconds to answer almost all your questions with argument, as a human would do.
But if the OpenAI chatbot is so talented, it’s also probably because its creators showered it with handpicked knowledge. The quality of the tool, and especially the results it delivers, is as bewildering as it is impressive. The technological revolution generated by the arrival of ChatGPT is massive, there will be a before and after…
In just a few weeks, ChatGPT has conquered the whole world, and many professionals use the tool daily in their work. The developers will not tell you the opposite, it is they who have found in the OpenAI chatbot the perfect ally to carry out commendable tasks, in particular by creating entire sections of code on the fly (sometimes at a very advanced level) completing their projects in development.
But ChatGPT is just a bot. He’s a highly capable robot for sure, but he takes literally what’s asked of him. He actually adheres to the only instructions you give him (famous “ summoned) to answer you. And even if the answers obtained most of the time hit the target, they may lack naturalness and accuracy.
To ensure that you get the optimal result, it is sometimes necessary to repeat the initial request by adding context, providing clarifications, asking them to develop, or even paraphrase. ChatGPT, who is not usually short of inspiration, resumes his story from the beginning by enriching his answer with the instructions I provided. These recommendations, which seem obvious, will allow you to get the most out of the tool more quickly, especially if you’re just beginning to tame it.
1. Add context
This may sound like common sense, but adding context to the instructions given for ChatGPT will get you much more succinct answers. When you ask it a question, ChatGPT cuts to the chase and provides the most direct answer. By adding a little context to your request, ChatGPT will tailor its response to what you requested.

2. Be specific and brief in your request
This point is somewhat related to the first point. In addition to adding context to the instructions you provide to ChatGPT, you should be as clear and concise in your request as possible. Add as many details as necessary to a file summoned. ChatGPT will take into account all your indications and each of your clarifications to generate a response that matches your request in every respect.

3. Ask him to clarify if you find his answer incomplete
Sometimes answers generated by ChatGPT lack detail. Feel free to continue the conversation with the Chatbot, by directly asking you to develop or complete his previous answer. ChatGPT will then continue with its plan by adding new elements to its previous answer.

4. Ask ChatGPT to rephrase its response
If the first answer given by ChatGPT doesn’t convince you, you can ask it to paraphrase it. You can do this without having to modify a file summoned Initial. All you have to do is ask him, for example, to use simpler terms, avoiding using some formulations that you consider too complicated, or ask him, for example, to answer as if you were a child. The chatbot will then resume and paraphrase it following your instructions to make it more understandable.

5. Ask ChatGPT to format responses or respond in a specific style
In addition to being an almost inexhaustible source of knowledge, ChatGPT is also able to adapt its speech by adopting a specific style. You could, for example, ask him to respond using the same accent as the author or a celebrity. Chabot can also format answers by creating bulleted lists, tables, etc., for example. You can also ask him to respond to you in a certain style, for example by copying the pen of a famous writer, or speaking like a celebrity.
