Release date, price and technical sheet

A few weeks before the presentation, new images of the Samsung Galaxy A34 and A54 surface. An opportunity for us to evaluate the upcoming mid-range smartphones from the Korean brand.

The Galaxy A34 and A54 will logically succeed the A33 and A53, two very popular phones from Samsung, along with the Galaxy A13. Building on its success, the brand should not only revolutionize the formula, but rather make some welcome improvements.

In 2023, Samsung will play the card of sobriety and unity by introducing all of its Galaxy smartphones with a design similar to that of its high-end mobile phone, the Galaxy S23. This results in three vertically aligned camera modules placed directly on the back of the phones. The entire camera block should stick out a bit from the casing, but much less than on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, for example.

In these marketing images, we can see that the borders around the screen will be slightly wider than those of previous models. Obviously, this has not been confirmed, which we will have the opportunity to do when we control smartphones. We also see that on both phones the bottom border is slightly thicker than the others.

A34 and A54 screens will be completely flat. Visually, the biggest difference between the two models is the level of the selfie camera module integrated in the form of a waterdrop notch on the A34 and in the form of a punch-hole for the A54.

More muscle technical papers

In the medium term, competition is fierce from Chinese brands. Samsung knows this very well and has decided to put some effort into the technical sheet of its new smartphones.

Thus, the Galaxy A54 will be equipped with a 6.4-inch Full HD 120 Hz AMOLED display with a new Exynos 1380 chipset and 8GB of RAM. Storage level, the user can choose between 128 or 256 GB, with expandable memory. On the photo side, the A54 will be equipped with three modules: a 50MP wide angle, 12MP ultra wide angle, 5MP macro/depth and a 32MP front camera module.

For its part, the A34 will have a 120 Hz AMOLED display (90 Hz on the previous model), a MediaTek MT6877V chip, 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage, again expandable with a microSD card.
