Redmond has clearly tangled in its brushes. I’ve offered many Windows 10 PC users to upgrade their machines to Windows 11, even if it doesn’t have the minimum system requirements.
It seems that Microsoft is having some difficulties with its servers that are responsible for offering an upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. In fact, it is clear that the Redmond company has shown a large number of users who have a Windows 10 computer in principle ineligible to install Windows 11 to do so. by promotion.
Insect is not isolated
On Twitter, PhantomOfEarth, an insider known for crashing versions of Windows, offered to update Windows 11 on a device that isn’t officially supported by Microsoft.
Is a free Windows 11 upgrade offered for unsupported Windows 10 devices/VMs?

Is this a simple bug or a mistake on Microsoft’s part? In any case, the problem will not be isolated. On Facebook, one of our readers also told us in comments of his surprise when he was offered the update when his computer didn’t meet the specifications imposed by Microsoft.

Neowin, transmitting the information, was also able to reproduce the problem inside a virtual machine whose configuration was well below the minimum configuration required by Microsoft to install Windows 11. With only 2 GB of RAM, a dual-core processor, 60 GB of storage and no TPM module, the default version of Windows 10 was introduced to download and install Windows 11 22H2.
Proposed upgrade but impossible to finalize
Unfortunately for affected users, the joy of being offered an upgrade to Windows 11 on their old PC will be short-lived. Accepting the suggested upgrade offer, downloading and installing Windows 11 fails… because the configuration is not supported. So Microsoft hasn’t rewrapped it, nor has it modified the prerequisites needed to install Windows 11.
However, if you desperately want to install on an incompatible PC, it’s still relatively easy to circumvent the restrictions imposed by Microsoft. You can actually turn to a utility like Rufus to create a bootable Windows installer that will bypass Microsoft’s restrictions. And if your computer configuration is not enough to run Windows 11 in the original version, you can resort to a modified, but unofficial (so at your own risk), version of Windows 11. This is what allows to make Tiny11, a light version of Microsoft’s operating system that works No chip TPM, secure boot and content with only 2GB of RAM to work.
